BIKE REPAIR HUBDroitwich Cycling, Walking & Wheeling Group

Safeguarding notice

The Droitwich Cycling, Walking & Wheeling Group wants everyone who comes to the Bike Repair Hub to be safe and to feel welcome. We take the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and adults at risk seriously.

At the Bike Repair Hub

  • Under-18s must come with a parent or carer who stays with them for the whole visit. Volunteers can't look after children.
  • Repairs happen in an open, shared space. Volunteers won't be alone one-to-one with a child or an adult at risk.
  • Children only use tools or go near the repair stands if their parent or carer and a volunteer both agree, and with supervision.
  • We only contact the adult who made the booking. Volunteers won't ask young people for their contact details or contact them privately.
  • We won't photograph or film children without permission from their parent or carer.
  • Adults who need support are welcome to bring a carer, family member or support worker with them.
  • We treat everyone with respect, and we expect the same of everyone who comes to the hub.

If you're worried about someone

If something worries you at the hub, or a child or adult tells you something that concerns you, please tell us. Speak to any volunteer on the day, or contact our Safeguarding Lead, email info@dcwwg.org.uk.

We'll take your concern seriously and act on it. We keep concerns confidential where we can, and only share information with people who need to know, such as social care or the police, when that's needed to keep someone safe.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
